    Khem Vilas is built on land that Goverdhan Rathore purchased in 1989 and converted into a wilderness area planting indigenous trees and creating open grasslands and small water bodies, spread over an area of 10 acres. Khem Vilas is a nature lovers paradise. It is common to see jackals, jungle cats, hyenas, desert fox, hares etc. within the camp grasslands. As it is close to the park one can sometimes see pug-marks of leopards, tiger and bears that have passed by and sometimes if one is lucky one may even get to see them near the camp. Guests view all kinds of birds from the flocks of White Throats among the grasslands to the Sparrow hawks hovering in the sky, the Black Winged Kites in the trees and the Moore Hen near the water hole.     Ramathra was granted as a jagir (fiefdom) in 1645 AD to Thakur Bhoj Pal by his father the Maharaja of Karauli. The fort has a strong perimeter wall crowned with parapets. Its ramparts are wide and offer a spectacular view from the hilltop. Inside there is a multi-storey palace, parts of which are being restored using traditional building techniques and local craftspeople. The rooms are basic, clean, air- conditioned and are furnished using all local design elements. They also have 12 twin bed luxury tents, which are pitched on a beautifully landscaped garden. These are not your regular camping tents. They are the kind of tents that the Indian royalty used when they camped out. The only difference is that the lodge have incorporated all the modern amenities that one expects these days, such as electricity, running hot and cold water, heating and cooling. All the rooms are located on the first floor of our main building. The reception, library, the lounge and the office are located on the ground floor. The tents have been pitched on large rolling, tree covered grounds. There are two large lawns in the front and the back of the main hotel building. Besides these, the tented area has a feel of one large garden. There is a regular dining area but also serve food in the garden, so that you can watch the Magpie robin in action while you have lunch. Fixed menu for all meals, mainly Indian and Continental dishes.

    Spice Coast Cruises feature single and two-bedroom houseboats, complete with kitchens, bathrooms and your own personal cooks-cum-attendants-cum-boatmen. The boat hulls are made from seasoned Jackfruit logs that have a natural gentle curvature. Your meals are prepared by the boatmen in local manner.
