Outline Itinerary
  • Day 1- Arrive Delhi -  You arrive early morning in Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival at the Airport, later transfer to Imperial hotel located near the city center. Afternoon explore New Delhi. New Delhi was built by the British and is in striking contrast to Old Delhi. Sir Edward Luytens designed its wide avenues and building. You also visit some pre-Mogul monuments and the tomb of Emperor Humayun. Evening is free. Overnight stay at Imperial Hotel 5 star hotel with old world charm.

  • Day 2 Delhi - In the morning you explore Old Delhi, the living legacy of the Moguls. Visit the Red Fort with its palaces, the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque and the Raj Ghat, where Gandhi was cremated. Afternoon is free.
  • Day 3 Delhi / Shekhawati - Morning drive (5 to 6 hrs) to Shekhawati region in Rajasthan's districts of Jhunjhunu & Sikar, known for the paintined houses or " havelies, " of its wealthy merchant class, the Marwaris. This region could be called the open-air art gallery of Rajasthan. The drive to Shekhawati is through picturesque village and farms. 

    On arrival stay at Roop Niwas Palace, Nawalgarh, which has a fascinating, blend of European and Rajput style of architecture. The Palace has a lovely, spacious lawns, a billiard room and a swimming pool.
  • Day 4 Shekhawati / Bikaner - After early breakfast drive (4 hrs) onto Bikaner arriving in time for late lunch. En route visit the Devra (1885) & Singhania (1880) Havelis at Fatehpur. Bikaner was founded in 1488 and like many Rajasthani cities is surrounded by a high battlement wall. In the afternoon visit the Junagarh Fort (1571-1611 AD ) and the Lalghar Palace, designed in 1881 by Sir Swinton Jacob. Evening Camel Safari including visit to a camel farm. Stay at family run  Bhanwar Niwas in the walled city.
  • Day 5 Bikaner / Jaisalmer - We follow the sun into the Thar desert to arrive at Jaisalmer, one of India's most exotic desert towns (5 hrs drive). Evening walk through the cobbled streets to absorb the atmosphere which has a extraordinarily medieval feel and view magnificent houses with their facades from yellow sandstone. Stay at the Bhanwar Niwas Palace. Best heritage hotel in Jaisalmer.
  • Day 6 Jaisalmer - In the morning you walk through the narrow streets often blocked by goats or cows to the hilltop fort like so many Rajput warriors of old, and later to the 12th century Jain temples. In the afternoon visit Lodurva, one of the former ancient capitals of Rajasthan and later drive to Sam to see the sun set. Rajasthan
  • Day 7 Jaisalmer / Jodhpur - Morning you drive (5 hrs) south of the Thar desert to arrive at city of Jodhpur, on the edge of the wonderland of sand dunes and shrubs, rock terrain's and thorny trees. Jodhpur was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha, Chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs, who claimed descent from Rama, the epic hero of the Ramayana. 

    Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort provides what must be the most authentic surviving taste of the ceaseless round of war, honour and extravagance that characterised Rajputana. The fort is uninhabited, its paths trodden only by visitors to the temple and the palace.

    Afternoon sightseeing of Jodhpur visit Mehrangarh Fort and the royal cenotaph. Stay at Ratan Vilas Palace – A family run heritage hotel.

  • Day 8 Jodhpur / Udaipur - Early morning drive (5 hrs) onto the lake city of Udaipur, " city of Dreams" which is often referred to as the most romantic city in India visiting en route the Jain temples at Ranakpur. In contrast to some of its desert neighbours it presents an enchanting image of white marble palaces, placid blue lakes and green hills that keep the wilderness at bay. It is an Oasis of colour in a stark and arid region. En route visit Jain temples at Ranakpur and also the Kumbhalgarh Fort. Stay at the Lake Palace Hotel regarded as one of the most romantic hotels in the world. 
  • Day 9 Udaipur - Morning visit the superb Jagdish Temple which is noted for its elephant - motif carving. Also visit the grand City Palace, which overlooks Pichola Lake. Afternoon free, you may simple relax soaking in the serene beauty of the Lake Palace or take a sunset boat ride and visit the Jag Mandir Island. 
  • Day 10 Udaipur / Deogarh - Afternoon drive to Deogarh ( 3 hrs ) Visiting en route the interesting temples of Eklingji and Nagda outside the city of Udaipur. Deogarh town is nestled among the oldest mountains range in the world - the Aravalis. The surrounding rugged, rocky hills are dotted with a number of old, majestic forts and over a hundred lakes. Deogarh is also renowned for its miniature painting. The Deogarh school bears a close affinity to the Mewar art form.

  • Day 11 Deogarh / Jaipur - Morning drive (5 hrs) to the city of Jaipur also known as the " pink city ". As the city was painted Pink. A traditional colour of welcome in 1853 in honour of visit by Prince Albert, the colour is still used in the walled city. 

    Jaipur stay at the Samode Haveli a heritage hotel located in the walled city. It is decorated with beautiful frescoes. At additional cost stay at the magnificent Rambagh Palace Hotel spread over 47 acre of land and was the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. 
  • Day 12 Jaipur - Morning visit Amber Fort, The highlight of the tour will be the traditional ascent to the fort on elephant-back. The remaining of the tour will include the Kali temple and Chambers of Mirrors. In the afternoon visit city Palace market and its Museum, Palace of the Winds and the Observatory. 
  • Day 13 Jaipur / Agra - The road to Agra (5 hrs drive) takes you via Keoladeo Ghana bird sanctuarya UNESCO World Heritage site & Akbar's deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, built as his capital in 1571 and deserted after 15 years when the wells went suddenly dry. Fatehpur Sikri, thanks to the arid climate, remains in perfect condition, and as you wander through the marble courtyards you can almost see and hear the royal happenings of four centuries ago. Evening visit Taj Mahal at sunset. Overnight at Taj View (Taj facing room).

  • Day 14 Agra / Delhi / Departure – Morning visit Taj Mahal at Sunrise (Optional). After breakfast you start the day by visiting Agra Fort, a massive complex with exquisite marble palaces. the handiwork of successive Mogul Emperors and generations of craftsmen. Continue to the incomparable Taj Mahal shining bright in the full light of the mid-day sun. Afternoon drive (5 hrs) to Delhi en route Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra in time for your international flight connection
