Outline Itinerary
- Day 1- Arrive Delhi
- You arrive early morning in Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival at the Airport, later transfer to Imperial hotel located near the city center. Afternoon explore New Delhi. New Delhi was built by the British and is in striking contrast to Old Delhi. Sir Edward Luytens designed its wide avenues and building. You also visit some pre-Mogul monuments and the tomb of Emperor Humayun. Evening is free. Overnight stay at Imperial Hotel 5 star hotel with old world charm.

Day 2 Delhi - In the morning you explore Old Delhi, the living legacy of the Moguls. Visit the Red Fort with its palaces, the Jama
Masjid, India's largest mosque and the Raj Ghat, where Gandhi was cremated. Afternoon is free.

Day 3 Delhi / Shekhawati - Morning drive (5 to 6 hrs) to Shekhawati region in Rajasthan's districts of Jhunjhunu &
Sikar, known for the paintined houses or " havelies, " of its wealthy merchant class, the
Marwaris. This region could be called the open-air art gallery
of Rajasthan. The drive to Shekhawati is through picturesque village and farms.
On arrival stay at Roop Niwas Palace, Nawalgarh, which has a fascinating, blend of European and Rajput style of architecture. The Palace has a lovely, spacious lawns, a billiard room and a swimming pool.
- Day 4 Shekhawati / Bikaner - After early breakfast drive (4 hrs) onto Bikaner arriving in time for late lunch. En route visit the Devra (1885) & Singhania (1880) Havelis at Fatehpur. Bikaner was founded in 1488 and like many Rajasthani cities is surrounded by a high battlement wall. In the afternoon visit the Junagarh Fort (1571-1611 AD ) and the Lalghar Palace, designed in 1881 by Sir Swinton Jacob. Evening
Camel Safari including visit to a camel farm. Stay at
family run Bhanwar Niwas in the walled city.
- Day 5 Bikaner / Jaisalmer -
We follow the sun into
the Thar desert to arrive at Jaisalmer, one of India's most exotic desert
towns (5 hrs drive). Evening walk through the cobbled streets to absorb the
atmosphere which has a extraordinarily medieval feel and view magnificent
houses with their facades from yellow sandstone. Stay at the
Bhanwar Niwas
Palace. Best heritage hotel in Jaisalmer.

Day 6 Jaisalmer - In the morning you walk through the narrow streets often blocked by goats or cows to the hilltop fort like so many Rajput warriors of old, and later to the 12th century Jain temples. In the afternoon visit Lodurva, one of the former ancient capitals of Rajasthan and later drive to Sam to see the sun set.
