We can help you select the hotels and lodges/resorts/camps from our large range which are appropriate for you and your desired style of holiday. It is, however, sometimes difficult for us to get an idea of your preferences through e-mail. It is best to call us directly on our office number from 09.30 am to 05.30 pm India Time (GMT + 5:30 hours) 91-11-2623 85 45 / 46 OR you can try our local UK number 020 8150 6158 or USA number 404-993-6116. The other alternative is to email us your home/mobile/office telephone number and we will call you.
Prices quoted on this website do NOT include International Flights to/from India. You will have to get the visa from the Indian Embassy on your own or through your local travel agent doing your international flights and travel insurance. However, we can assist you with international flight tickets to India and you are welcome to give our reference for the application form for your Indian visa.
You will be received by our staff or representative on arrival and will be transferred from the airport to your hotel and on departure, from your hotel to the airport. These transfers are arranged by taxis or mini-bus.
Single destination holiday - Accommodation for a minimum of 2 nights at any of the hotels featured in our brochure or on our web site. We do not recommend stays of less than 2 nights.
Multi-centre holidays - For stays of 5 or more nights, we will arrange any combination of hotels throughout India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. We will be pleased to discuss the logistics and travelling times between places. For example, we do not recommend driving from Jaipur to Jaisalmer in one day or from Delhi to Shimla or Khajuraho to Varanasi as the distances are too great both for allowing you to enjoy the scenery and for safety as well.
Self-driving is not recommended in the Indian Sub-continent. Chauffeur-driven car hire is the best option. The cost of self-drive and chauffeur-driven car hire is nearly the same.
We will be pleased to provide a local driver who can speak/understand English. However it must be noted that a driver cannot be considered a guide though he will have some basic knowledge of the country. He cannot be depended upon for accurate or historical information.
Self-drive is not advisable even if you have a lot of driving experience, Some Indian roads can be nerve-racking. You can be pitted against potholed roads, poor signage, bad driving, and roaming animals. A driver won’t really compromise your independence, and you’ll save your energy for sightseeing. The driver will know where to find petrol stations, and asking for directions or dealing with the police in case of an accident or emergency is a lot easier since he can speak the local language. He won’t be a financial burden either, as you don’t need to provide his meals, and Indian hotels generally have separate accommodation quarters for drivers and the driver is given a daily allowance for his meals and personal needs.
We only offer car hire in conjunction with an inclusive itinerary with hotels etc.
As part of an overall inclusive itinerary, we arrange activities such as:
If you plan to use trains within India, you will need to buy your own tickets or ask the concierge at your hotel to get them for you. Only the faster trains in India are reasonably comfortable and offer an inexpensive means of transport.
We only offer Train Tickets in conjunction with an inclusive itinerary with hotels etc.
We cannot book transport by public bus transport.
As a specialist operator, we prefer to work with individuals or small gatherings of friends or family. However, we also do large special interest groups looking for a royal experience.
We get a large number of requests for guides WITHOUT any of our other services. This is NOT something our office will arrange.
We are often asked to help arrange weddings and receptions for large parties and for guests travelling to India from various parts of the world. This is something we do specialise in. Due to our royal connections, we can offer a lot of grand private venues. However, we will organise weddings & celebrations only if it is a part of an overall itinerary with flights, hotels, transportation etc.
We offer camel treks / walking treks / horse treks / wildlife safari or jeep safari as part of an overall itinerary with flights, hotels, transportation etc.
We can make arrangements for such activities as part of an overall itinerary with flights, hotels, transportation etc.
We do NOT offer 7 or 14 day escorted coach tours with weekly or daily departures. Our tailor-made itineraries can cover the same routes and we feel this is far more rewarding than travelling with 30 or 40 other people.
Whilst we do make arrangements for such groups, we have found that it is probably better for corporate organisations that have groups of over 100 people to contact specialist tour operators who have facilities to handle large groups.
