Itinerary:  Yoga & Tigers

 

Overview

Spend few days on a Yoga Safari at Kanha National Park a prime tiger wilderness, one of India’s largest national parks renowned not only for its high tiger concentration, but as the last remaining habitat of the hard ground barasingha or swamp deer. The tour combines Yoga with game drives and other optional activities,as well as rest, re-juvenate and much more.

Day 1 - Arrival/Delhi

 You will be met on arrival and transferred to Hotel.

(Check In Time is 1400 hrs)
 
Overnight at Oberoi Trident 5*
 
New Delhi:  An excellent starting point for exploring North India, not only because of its ample transport connections and sophisticated infrastructure, but because the history of Delhi, one of the oldest cities in the world, is essentially the history of India. The city is littered with crumbling tombs and ruins, most of which are not even on the tourist map.
 
Hotel:  Trident Gurgaon is five star luxury hotel set amongst 7 acres of landscaped garden, walkways, courtyards, reflection pools and fountains. It has been voted 'Asia's Leading Hotel' at the World Travel Awards, 2011.

Day 2 - Delhi/Jabalpur/Kanha

 Morning transfer to airport to fly to Jabalpur

 

 Air India:0610 hrs/0810 hrs

Upon arrival road transfer (3.5 to 4 hrs) in an air conditioned comfortable private Vehicle to Flame Of The Forest Lodge.
 
Welcome drink on arrival. Take orientation of Lodge and spend the time at leisure.
 
After lunch  together, get to know each other and evaluate if some one has any Special needs or requirements etc so we know if he/she cannot be recommended certain Asanas or Pranayamas etc

Evening discussion of the programme (10 positive points, thought of the day,walk and theory) followed by drinks and Dinner

Kanha National Park : Prime tiger wilderness, Kanha National Park was one of the first areas to be protected under Project Tiger is one of India’s largest national parks and is renowned not only for its high tiger concentration, but as the last remaining habitat of the hard ground barasingha, or swamp deer
 
Flora & Fauna:  Kanha national park has 22 species of mammals. Those most easily spotted are TIGER, Indian hare, Indian wild dog, the Stripped Palm Squirrel, Common langur, Jackal, Wild Pig, Chital or Spotless deer, Barasingha or Swamp deer, Sambar and black Buck.Patient watching should reward the visitor, with a sight of Indian Fox, Sloth bear, Striped hyena, Jungle cut, Lepord, Mouse Deer, Chausingha or four horned antelope, Nilgai, Ratel and Porcupine.Kanha National Park is home to over 200 species of flowering plants.
 
Lodge: Named after the native Indian tree, Flame of the Forest, is a beautiful, socially and environmentally aware boutique lodge. Located right next to the Banjaar River, this unique lodge provides a secluded privacy with stunning views over the river and into the jungles beyond. Located in great proximity to Kanha National Park, so fantastic for a jungle adventure in search of a magnificent tiger!

The lodge features just 4 exclusive cottages, keeping it small means that not only will you get an intimate experience but a personalised flexibility when it comes to meals, wildlife and nature viewing.


Day 3 - Kanha

 

Early morning meet at 0630 hrs. Do Asanas and Pranayam for next 30mins.Continue your morning session with thought of the day 15 min meditation. Finish your morning session with one hour silent walk.

 

After morning yoga session have breakfast (9a.m.) 

 

After breakfast get together for theoretical discussion on Yoga sutras, bhavas or asanas.Time at leisure preferably in silence after the discussion.

 

Have lunch (1 pm). After lunch 15 min slow walk, then guided relaxation.

 

Spend afternoon at  leisure followed  by 1.5hrs Asana session(4 pm)

 

Evening discussions and dinner(0730 hrs)

 

Overnight at  Kanha Flame Of The Forest

 


Day 4 - Kanha

Morning safari in an open 4x4 safari vehicle observing Mauna (Silence). Return to lodge share your experience at breakfast.
 
Lunch at 1 pm. After lunch 15 min slow walk and guided relaxation.
 
Spend the afternoon at leisure.
 
Evening Asana session (4 pm)
 
Talk about the experiences  at dinner ( 7.30 pm)
 
Overnight at  Kanha Flame Of The Forest

Day 5 - Kanha

Morning 7 am assemble. Do 30 min Asana and Pranayama and 15 min meditation on the thought of the day. End your morning session with one hour walk in silence. 
 
After breakfast go to the village and play with the kids or do karma yoga (pick up Plastic in the tribal village in silence)
 
Return to the camp for lunch (1pm)
 
After lunch, evening drive in an open 4x4 safari vehicle
 
Dinner at 7.30 pm
 
Overnight Kanha Flame of The forest

Day 6 - Kanha/Nagpur/Delhi

Morning 7 am assemble. Do asanas and yoga (45 min) followed by 15 min meditation on the thought of the day. Finish your morning session with one hour walk in silence.

 

At breakfast get together and speak about the overall experience and counseling.

 

Later drive to Nagpur airport with packed lunch in an air conditioned comfortable private vehicle.

 

Indigo Airlines:1805 hrs/1940 hrs

(Reporting time for domestic flight  is at least 01 hour prior to departure)

 

You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.

 

Overnight at Oberoi Trident (5 star)


Day 7 - Delhi/Departure

Transfer to airport in time to board flight back home

 

(Reporting time for international flight  is at least 03 hours prior to departure)


Note

: • Park in Madhya Pradesh remains closed on Wednesday afternoon • Tiger viewing from elephant back - This activity is dependent on the National Park by which it is run and generally only takes place in the early mornings
